Stepping into The East, visitors are immediately enveloped in an atmosphere of funky, cool vibes. Eclectic art pieces hang on the walls, blending seamlessly with the clean, professional design of the space, creating a welcoming haven for tattoo enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike. This isn’t just another tattoo studio—it’s a creative collective built on the foundation of artistry, collaboration, and community.
The brainchild of two respected local artists, Steve Roberts and Earl Funk, The East was founded to give tattoo artists a space to thrive creatively while building genuine connections with clients and the surrounding community. This ethos is woven into everything they do, from their approach to tattooing to their active participation in local events. The team’s dedication to community engagement is evident in their participation in Ivanhoe Village Main Street initiatives, like the recently celebrated Jingle Eve, and ongoing programs like their annual toy drive.
This year, the toy drive culminates on Saturday, December 7th, with a day full of festive fun and giving back. From 12 PM to 6 PM, guests are invited to join in the holiday spirit by donating unwrapped toys. Each donation earns an entry into a raffle for exclusive merchandise and even the chance to win free tattoos. Families can enjoy a photo session with Santa from 12 PM to 2 PM, while tattoo enthusiasts can snag one-of-a-kind flash designs offered throughout the event.
For The East, the mission goes far beyond ink—it’s about creating an inclusive space where creativity thrives, and people feel connected.
