When you walk into The Gnarly Barley, light-hearted energy and staff smiles greet you. This has been true since Gnarly originally opened on S Orange Ave in 2012, before relocating to Ivanhoe Village in 2021. Owners Joey, Trace, and Zach also own GB’s Bottle Shop, the craft beer and crowler bar located around the corner on Virginia Dr (celebrating eight years this month!), and knew this neighborhood positioned them with the best opportunity to grow the Gnarly brand.
A longtime local favorite, The Gnarly Barley is kicking off the fall season with exciting new offerings. This neighborhood gem has been a go-to spot for locals looking to enjoy a bite or drink with a laid-back vibe and friendly service. Whether you’re stopping by for one of their legendary sandwiches, sipping on a cold beverage overlooking Lake Ivanhoe, or attending a themed event, the Gnarly fam is about to make the experience even better.
Starting this month, Gnarly Barley is rolling out a refreshed food menu, packed with bold flavors and new dishes (think: a creative spin on classic bar fare), while keeping some tried and true favorites (hello, mac and cheese!). Gnarly is also opening a brand-new outdoor bar and patio! This expanded space will be perfect for enjoying a craft beer or Gnarly signature cocktail, all while taking in the people watching and bustling activity near Gaston Edwards Park.
With fun events like the Drunkin’ Pumpkin Patch and Pink Pony Pride just around the corner, along with regularly scheduled themed trivia nights, there is no better time to check out The Gnarly Barley– where the vibe is as cool as the drinks they serve!
