When you step into Theory Salon Ivanhoe, you’re greeted by a peaceful, chic atmosphere. The bright space is punctuated by the lively exchange between stylists and clients. The rumble of passing trains adds a unique charm, one familiar to the neighborhood. Owner Erin Mills initially chose to open Theory Salon in Ivanhoe Village in part because of the eclectic, artistic flair of the district. While Theory Ivanhoe celebrates its fifth anniversary this fall, Erin’s passion for the area has allowed her to expand her vision with Theory Mills50 just last year.

With both locations within a mile radius, Theory Salons contributes a significant economic impact to our neighborhood, providing over fifty jobs in total. The salon is perfectly situated within walking distance of eateries and gift shops for salon clients to pop into before or after a service.

Erin and her team are active in amplifying their community, participating in both Ivanhoe Village and Mills50 Main Streets’ events, fundraisers and more. The salon welcomes diverse clients by offering a range of specialty services including haircuts, styling, color transformations, and both taped and handtied extensions. A most recent venture includes Theory Storehouse, a one-stop shop for hair care and accessories.

Theory Salon is not only committed to kindness, of ourselves and others, but to our planet. Theory Salon recycles up to 95% of their waste and has been awarded as a Green Circle Certified Salon. This sustainability initiative, along with monthly workshops for stylists to continue education, shows the salon’s dedication to providing a high-quality experience for their clients and the community.
