Independent businesses across Orlando continue to struggle amid the Coronavirus pandemic. From restaurants and breweries, to boutiques and watering holes, many small Orlando businesses benefit from the tourism economy that Central Florida is well known for.
Six of Orlando’s Main Street districts are coming together to promote local businesses to visitors. Today, we are launching a new site, https://www.localorlando.info/, which brings together a collection of local businesses that make Orlando unique. The programs’ leaders identified the need to join together to market Orlando’s close-in neighborhoods as a tourist destination for people looking for authentic and human-scale experiences. The neighborhoods have long been featured in travel articles from major publications, with the new website giving them collaborative marketing power that they wouldn’t have alone.
Participating districts are Audubon Park Garden District, Ivanhoe Village, The Milk District, Mills 50 District, SoDo District and Thornton Park District, all within a couple of miles of Orlando’s downtown core.
