Focuses on capital to assist new and existing businesses, catalyze property development, and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies.

Organization

Involves creating a strong foundation for a sustainable revitalization effort, including cultivating partnerships, community involvement, and resources for the district.

Promotion

Positions the downtown or commercial district as the center of the community and hub of economic activity, while creating a positive image that showcases a community’s unique characteristics.

Design

Supports a community’s transformation by enhancing the physical and visual assets that set the commercial district apart.

My role on the board is to help the marketing efforts which helps the businesses and brings awareness to the district that may not have known about it previously.”

Shawn Tofte, , Board of Directors

Shawn has been an active member with the Ivanhoe Village Main Street District since 2019. As a Landscape Architect for VHB, he has a deep understanding and passion for placemaking and creating a sense of place. In 2021, Shawn joined the board as a resident member and soon became the Design Committee Chairman, where he and his committee have been working on a variety of projects that have or will soon be implemented in the upcoming months. One signature project being the “Art Panels”, where local artists are offered the opportunity to showcase their work onto panels displayed on local businesses throughout the district. Ivanhoe Village has become a special place to Shawn and his family. Since moving to the district in 2012, Shawn has dedicated much of his time to making Ivanhoe Village a unique place to live, work, and play..”
