Russian Ballet Orlando-June 2022 Business of the Month

Artistic Director Katerina Fedotova carries on her family’s legacy with Russian Ballet Orlando, teaching the Russian “Vaganova” method. Originally from Ukraine, Katerina’s parents came to the United States in the 1990’s to choreograph ballet. In 2000, Russian Ballet Orlando was born, practicing and performing out of The Plaza Live. Their first performance of The Nutcracker was set to be small; they had only a handful of students and a handful of tickets sold. However, curtains opened to a full house! Community members showed up to reminisce past Plaza Live memories and show support to a new small business, Russian Ballet Orlando.

Today, the mission has been to “enrich, engage, educate students, performers, and audiences in the art of dance”. Ages 2.5 years to adult, and all levels, are welcome at the Russian Ballet Orlando. There is fun, focus, and a family feel. The Russian Ballet Orlando offers many outreach programs, including free ballet classes on the second Sunday of each month, and a free performance of the Nutcracker celebrated in Downtown Orlando each holiday season. Mark your calendars, Russian Ballet Orlando is hosting their graduation performance “Toy Shop” on June 18 at the Plaza Live!
