Salon Dulay-January 2026 Business of the Month

From the moment you walk through the doors of Salon Dulay, the pace slows. Soft pastel tones, thoughtfully placed greenery, and a clean, serene design create a peaceful atmosphere that feels worlds away from the bustle outside.

Owner Laura Dulay brings intention to every detail. In addition to owning two other Salon Dulay locations in Windermere and Dr. Phillips, Laura personally designed the interior of this salon, blending beauty with calm in a way that instantly puts guests at ease. Her approach to hair care is equally thoughtful. As an Aveda salon, Salon Dulay uses products that are organically derived, cruelty-free, and rooted in wellness. Even the color process feels creative, as stylists mix shades by hand, much like an artist blending paints, to create custom tones uniquely suited to each guest.

At the heart of Salon Dulay is a deep commitment to people, both guests and staff. Laura is intentional about building a diverse and inclusive team that reflects the surrounding community, with the hope that every guest who walks through the door can feel comfortable, seen, and able to relate to their stylist. This philosophy creates a welcoming environment where trust and connection come naturally.

Salon Dulay and Laura are also dedicated to mentorship and growth. The salon hires stylists directly from Aveda institutes, supporting them at the start of their careers and guiding them as they develop their craft. As stylists gain experience, they move through the tiers, with Laura taking the time to understand each individual’s strengths and passions to ensure the best fit within the salon (whether it truly be hair, make up, or something else).

For guests, this thoughtful structure means choice without compromise. Clients can select their experience based on style preference or budget, knowing that quality, care, and attention to detail are never sacrificed.

The emphasis on care extends well beyond hair. Every hair service includes a complimentary hand massage, and guests can also enjoy chair massage services, making a visit feel more like a wellness experience than a routine appointment. Preparing for a special event? Salon Dulay also offers makeup services, perfect for weddings, celebrations, or nights out.

That sense of care and community extends well beyond the salon chair. Melissa, the salon manager, began her journey at Salon Dulay as a client more than ten years ago, a testament to the lasting relationships being built at the salon. That same commitment carries into the neighborhood, with Salon Dulay regularly showing up for Ivanhoe Village events such as Virginia Drive Live, Sip Into Spring, Once Upon a Halloween, and Jingle Eve, not just as a business, but as an active community partner. Guests can also extend the experience beyond their visit through the salon’s thoughtfully curated retail selection, featuring professional hair care and aromatherapy products used throughout each service.
