The Barefoot Spa celebrates its 13th anniversary this August! With a strong foundation laid by previous owners Harris and Heather Drucker, the spa has become a beloved haven for relaxation and rejuvenation in Ivanhoe Village. Over the last eight months and under the fresh management of Erika Thurston, a former employee turned owner, The Barefoot Spa continues to thrive, maintaining the comfort and charm that regulars have come to cherish while bringing Erika’s own flair to the spa.
The Barefoot Spa was founded in 2010 as a space where guests could escape their bustling lives and find serenity, in an oasis of relaxation and healing for all. Through hard work, high quality service, and community support, the spa has flourished. With over 20 years of massage therapy experience, Erika has introduced subtle yet thoughtful enhancements, offering new services and treatments that complement the spa’s core offerings. Her fresh perspective breathed new life into The Barefoot Spa, adapting to the evolving needs and preferences of the community while also valuing the importance of staying true to the spa’s healing roots.
Prioritizing community engagement, The Barefoot Spa contributes to the neighborhood by participating in the Ivanhoe Village and Mills50 Main Streets, as well as partnering with other local businesses for events. The spa’s “Living Room” is adorned with pieces by the Orlando Art Collective, which brings in unique art while supporting local artists. In celebration of the upcoming birthday, visitors may notice a few new pieces of the spa’s own: a beautifully handcrafted metal logo in the spa’s front window, as well as a funky pink bike sporting the spa’s logo next to the flamingo mural on the spa’s west wall.
Book an appointment today to experience a relaxing foot massage while sitting in a cozy chair, surrounded by pretty plants and intriguing artwork, and letting Erika and her team work their magic.
Here’s to many more years of tranquility!
