As we wrap up 2022, it is nice to take a moment to pause and reflect on the year.
The Ivanhoe Village Design Committee successfully installed their first round of art panels on Virginia Drive and put the second round into motion. The art panels exhibit work from local artists and offer a unique spin on a mural. Ivanhoe Village hosted three successful clean ups with Keep Orlando Beautiful, helping to beautify the district and create a welcoming place for businesses to thrive.
The Economic Vitality Committee published the second edition of the Ivanhoe Village guidebook, showcasing the district’s local businesses. They held the second annual State of the Village, where business owners and residents could come to learn about the happenings in the district. The committee implemented Ivanhoe Workshops, where business owners and residents could come to learn and gather resources to help their businesses succeed.
The Ivanhoe Village Promotions Committee held several successful events. Three times this year, Ivanhoe Village co-hosted Virginia Drive Live with Mills50. The event showcased the businesses along Virginia Drive, as well as local vendors. Sip Into Spring brought in almost 300 wine-walkers to enjoy retailers throughout the district. Summerween, a Halloween-themed summer event, engaged local businesses while offering family-friendly fun for the community. Jingle Eve was the district’s last event of 2022. With a sold-out wine walk of 600 guests and an estimated 9,000 people in attendance districtwide, Jingle Eve brought a large economic impact. The event brought guests into brick-and-mortar businesses, supported local vendors and provided a community component with a Children’s Holiday Village and fireworks.
